London Classic Car Show:Part 2 The Cars
on: January 27, 2015, 07:52:39 PM
Right having perved over the bikes, lets take a look at the cars!

Before beginning, I have to say its odd how your view of things changes. Going to classic car races and shows kind of skews your view of whats exciting. There were far more Ferraris,Porsches and Jags at the show than my photos show. Its odd that you get blaise about a Ferrari Daytona or a F1 Red Bull!

Anyway,heres the cars...
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

Oddly, I don't seem to have taken a picture of the Type 35 that was in the moving disply. I might have video of it though

I never thought I'd get to see one of these,a Cisitalia.

There were only a handful of these built. Nuvolari drove one in his last Mila Millia.

On the subject of cars I never thought I'd get to see are Delahayes... I'd only ever seen them in books, usually about cars that cost millions! But

and

The silver one dates to 1948. The styling is so far ahead of its time. Al and I were guessing late 50s. Its a fair sign of how sad we are that we spent five minutes going on about the door handles and boot release. Took BMC/British Leyland well into the late 60s to make such stylish doorhandles

Until about five years ago I'd never seen a Bristol or a Jenson in the flesh, now realitivly speaking ,they're all over the place...not that I'm complaining

Nice pics John

There weren't by any chance any Morris Cowleys were there ... No.6s ... my neighbour is in the middle of restoring one, and I keep getting collared for help on various things. Unfortunately there's not a lot of reference data around

There was a Bullnose of some description, and a Isagonis 1300 rebuilt as a pick up(rather nice it was too) but that was about it.
