Hi!
on: February 04, 2015, 10:47:54 PM
Hello,

I'm Dylan and I'm from The Netherlands ( it's next to Germany :P )
I work in IT and since eternity I have been annoyed by the fact that I never have the tools I need at hand, until now!

I've recently come across the awesomeness that are Multi Tools.
Yes that is correct, up until probably a week ago I had no idea such tools existed ( I did know Swiss Army Knives though ), I actually bumped into a YouTube video of one whilst being rather bored.
It caught my eye that such a compact tool had a full set of pliers and a plethora of other tools.
And here I am a week later with my very first Multitool.
I've always had the need for something like this but never really felt like looking into it, almost daily do I have the need for a screwdriver, a set of pliers or a knife, and almost daily do I tell myself that I should really start carrying some tools in my bag.

Now for my first Multitool I bought a Leatherman Surge, I know, it's a bit of a jump for a first timer, but I feel like it will suit my needs perfectly.
I actually chose this multitool because of the bit driver, I often find the need for a small and medium sized screwdriver.

It's a tad bit heavy but I'm used to carrying a heavy set of keys in my pocket so I don't mind it.
I'm really happy with it so far and I already got to use it multiple times today :D

This forum actually helped me out while choosing a Multitool, I have to say that there is a lot of information, and I thank you all for that, it has helped me a LOT!

So, thanks and I hope to have a great time around.

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

Hi and welcome :waving:

There's a lot of folks who'll be impressed you've jumped straight to the Surge :tu:

You now need a Vic Cybertool to complement it :pok:
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

Just to make it interesting, see how long you can go without buying any more multitools  :pok:   :D  (most of us here are totally lost causes)

We have a few Dutch members here, although I haven't seen some of them around in some time.

The Surge is a great tool.  Just don't wear it around the water because if you fall in no one will ever hear from you again!  Still, you'll be hard pressed to find a tool that you can drive as hard as the Surge!

Welcome to the forum!
