Is anybody getting the new version of the Dime? Looks like the differences are:
-The blade has been replaced with a long file.
-The package opener has been replaced with a zipper hook.
-The small flathead / Phillips driver no longer has the, ahem, "file" machined into it.
Hopefully, the file is properly ground and hardened. The file on the Dime (I've had eight at one point) wasn't really a file; just some shallow lines machined into the non-hardened piece of steel. They weren't even angled. Hopefully this is fixed. I didn't see a definite shot of the underside, but I hope it's cut so you can groove or cut light metal with it.
Not sure how I feel about the zipper hook. I don't fly, so this could have been anything for me. I do lie, and find uses for, the Victorinox hook though. And I like that it comes out the end instead of being in the T-position like the Victorinox. If I decide I don't like it, it would be very easy to turn it into a hole punch.
Here's a review (with some good photos) from Blade Barrel Bezel...
