need help on a good thrower
on: February 14, 2015, 04:15:08 AM
  Hello brethren,
I'm in sort of a flashlight frenzy lately. Ive purchased a few lights for night walks with my dog and such. But in my neighborhood there is the occasional loose dog and i have had some scary encounters. I wooud like a light that throws very far but that does not have a HUGE head. Something that would actually fit in my pocket comfortably. I own a fenix ld22 215 lumens and the thrunite tn12 1050 lumens. And many others with lesser lumens. All great but none throw very far.
Looking for a single 18650 or 2 AA flashlight, with a not too big head with great throw.
  Please help with suggestions
Thanks

There are a few cheap single aa  or LiIon zooming  lights like the sipik68 type ones. These are very popular and are around $4. They use a lens for zooming so their head is small.
There are also some C8 type throwers.

There is a link in my signature that can take you to a thread on these lower cost options where you can get an idea of the beam shape too. Or check the review section.

Thanks for the help guys. After much research, I decided to go with the Nitecore MT21A. It has the longest throw of any 2 aa flashlight I researched. And at a very fair price.

Already got the mt21. Head is not much bigger than my other aa light but has significant throw.
