That's a "Mr Pinchy" (although Gerber preferred to call it a "Multi-Plier"   ;) )

It is slightly unusual because it is BO; has the large plier pivot bearing (mostly only seen on the v1 & 2 tools );  has v4.1 handles, but has the big awl, rather than the file that most version 4 Mr Pinchys came with.  I believe Gerber did keep putting the big awl in some of these later Mr Pinchys, but not very often.

A reliable, robust tool, but if you use it for cutting wire you will soon discover why it earned the nick-name "Mr Pinchy" (when the handles close suddenly they often pinch the palm of your hand between the handles).

thanks for the info.

I cleaned and oiled it as well as sharpening the serrated blade to very sharp.  Good Steel on these

There is something very satisfying about sliding these pliers out with a flick of the wrist.

Im just a bit bothered it doesent open up all the way like a leatherman.  To each his own

Nice Gerber multitool which I think is a perfect tool which can be used for everyday carry to outdoors and I would definitely want the one like it for my outdoors camping or trekking expeditions.
Can you comment on this multitool which I am thinking of getting for my next outdoors trip.

If I need to pick some good EDC tools.

The Flik is an interesting MT I think.  Lots of things not to like (the short screwdrivers put a lot of people off), but I always really liked mine.  The saw is OK, not the best, but just about OK.
