Yankee Patented Hammer Wrench

Here's an interesting tool patented in 1885.  Yankee hammer and adjustable wrench.  This one is still up for bid on the popular auction website. Currently around $80 US.   I snagged a photo for multi tool posterity.

There are many differet versions of this type tool incorporating a hammer and a wrench or pliers. Most fencing tools have a hammer and pliers.  Buggy wrenches are similar.  They are way better than no tool at all.

What are your other reasons then?




I did check the auction for additional pictures and didn't see any actual retention grooves for to keep the wrench in it's place. That's why the dislike.

I know of the other versions of such tools, I just didn't like this one too much.

Mostly I just like the look of it, but the wrench must lock up somehow even tho its hard to tell  and the handle has style

OK, that's weird. I was specifically looking for this kind of thing when I first opened the auction pictures but there wasn't or didn't load.

Can't fight the feeling it would flop about however if used as a hammer.
