Kayak, Georgian Bay Ontario, last weekend. Victorinox Soldier's knife, Fox whistle, Keen sandals, and for one short paddle I took our Lab/Corgi cross.

Hike. I forget what I carried, likely a Buck knife and Fox whistle, two Lab crosses, Nike Airs on my feet.

Yard work at home this week. Again, the Soldier's knife, Gerber Crucial, Buck Spitfire, various garden tools.

One would think I'd be in better shape...but...not.

It's so great to see you dads out with your girls  :tu:.  Looks like a nice outing in beautiful country.

Recently I made the time to get out on some trails to count my pace.  I went up trails, down trails, as well as semi flat.  I didn't realize how long I was out till my belly started rumbling.

Those I did.  However I did forget to pack matches and had to make a detour to pick some up. :-[

In case anyone's interested, there is another pedal prix race this Sunday in Australia. I'll try and do a post if anything interesting happens, but apparently there's gonna be a livestream of it. It should be interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqzu3Twt31U

Since my summer place is on the Bruce Trail I sound better than I am when I say I hike it a lot. The trail goes by my front door. However, it's not far from some pretty rugged hiking and biking so I do that often, especially this year. I've been throwing my bicycle in the pickup truck and driving to various trailheads to ride, it avoids the boring and exhausting road riding, even ditching my bike and hiking where the bike won't go easily.

I hate bug repellent so I have to keep moving, and at my age and fitness that means pacing myself.

I always carry the whistle, folding knife and/or multi-tool and/or small sheath knife, sun hat and bike helmet, water, and whatever else I need, but try to keep it light.

Sounds like a great place to live.  I love just being outdoors whether hiking, walking, or sitting somewhere beautiful.  Sure would love a few pics of some of your trails.

My roomie and I wanted to get out the house and stretch our legs a bit even tho its been hot out.  We decided to go explore a local reservoir and mess about.  We also wanted to see what we thought of our "out for a walk" packs felt like.  She carries a shoulder bag with a few basics she likes to have.  I carry a simple set up mostly just fun stuff.  We were in managed land so no fire making or alcohol stove for lunch making either  :(.  We also weren't far from the vehicle so no need for full blown packs.

I brought my Swisschamp SOS kit and a small fixed blade plus a small first aid kit.  It was very hot out 93F so a few hours is all we could manage.  Nice good sweat and back to the car we went.

Just took a drive up Mt Evans (14,264'), highest paved road in the US. Beautiful day for it. Also a great day for wildlife. Saw 7 or 8 big horn sheep, and maybe 30 mountain goats. The goats are hard to spot, they look like the surrounding rocks until they move. (On the last shot play spot the goats   :D  )

Went shooting today with my brother. Good time but when we restocked at Walmart we spent a $100 each on ammo. That's a new SwissTool in ammo. we like to keep our safes topped off just in case.

I went for a bike ride.

Down the road...

Along the lane and over the bridge...

Stopping to enjoy the view...

Under the road...

To here...

Through the forest...

To the beach!

Uphill...

Heading home...

Up the valley...

Home.
