Nice cutters. Great buy! What is the product number on the hub?
Quote from: Yadda on February 25, 2015, 07:16:07 PMNice cutters. Great buy! What is the product number on the hub?Thank you! It is surely a pleasure to use, cutting effort is minimal. My guess is that it was used in some assembly operation where repetitive stress was an issue. Possible for women in wartime production seems plausible or something similar. On the hub, just the maker's name & address, no model number. All the other variants I have are also stamped Sargent on each handle where it fits into your palm. I forgot to add that this one is stamped Bernard there. If you look for other compound tools, many of them have "Bernard's Patent" stamped on them.I am a sucker for pliers-type tools I don't have. Cannot stop picking them up if the right price. This one is truly unique amongst them. Now for a set of end nippers! (Image removed from quote.)
I’m surprised they look exactly like Maun side cutters which have been made in the UK since 1944Those look like good quality cutters https://www.cousinsuk.com/product/maun-cutters
Do you have a Plierench? If you don't can you really say you are collecting pliers?
By the way, are those Sargent parallel jaw pliers in the bottom left?(Image removed from quote.)

You wound me sir, I have 2!One without extras, it runs around between various toolboxes, workbenches, and cars. The other has the original pouch with (2) extra jaws. I've seen your collection, I hate you. (Image removed from quote.)
