Not for me, not my kind of folder.
I am a fan of their fixed blade knives though

Change the handle up a bit and made in 1095 carbon steel, I would buy that in a heartbeat.

I guess I have to be the one to ask why?

Why would you put a scandi ground blade on a folder than can't take advantage of the thick strong grind?

But then, I've never been a huge fan of scandi grinds. Give me full flat grind for cutting.
Don't get too serious, just enough will do.

Because Scandi grinds are a good grind and there is nothing that says it has to be on a fixed blade. Also, while yes it is not a fixed blade, but I am willing to blade that folder will be able to take advantage of the grind just fine.

How are scandi grinds "good", exactly?  You either get an edge too thick for most work or an edge so thin it wears away or chips ridiculously easily.  Besides that, you have to take off a huge amount of steel from the blade every time you want to sharpen it.

The common refrain from people who use scandi grinds is "put a microbevel on it!" which hey, means it's no longer a scandi grind.

I tried to like scandi grinds, but every time I use one I just dont.

My workshop Moras have all been convexed ground now.  Not for any particular reason other than its quick and easy to do on a belt grinder on the slack belt portion.  Keeping the original scandi angles is really hard for me so I never bothered any more.

I may try one if I can work out the funds.

A folding scandi would be awesome.

They cut cut good and keep an edge for a long while. So far mine have not chipped anymore than any other grinds I have or used.
Sharping yeah you do have to take a little more off, but that's is the same with full grinds and convex grinds.
And no I don't put a micro bevel on them either.
I will say that this grind is not for everyone. Seems to be you like it or hate it. But a lot of grinds are like that.

Necro thread.....arise!

Seems the Finn Wolf will skip the steel upgrade?

Still pretty sure this will be the next folder I buy, budgeted for early 2016

Any new users/owners/opinions?

Old thread but interesting.

Scandinavian grinds are easiest to sharpen with little experience. Just a flat stone.
Lesser steels match this philosophy.

TBH......neither do I, as a whole, but it does tick several boxes nothing else seems to (for me)

I'm going to pay somebody to teach me more about knife making, but we just might have a fight because I know his opinion on Scandi grinds, while I've done my own cutting tests comparing his best to a good scandi grind

I know, horses for courses, but I view a scandi as a very good and simple working edge, and appreciate it as such.

Here are some comparisons shots next to a ruler (cm) and a spartan for scale.

Its quite light, (no liners just very stiff plastic scales)

So how do you like it as far as using it goes?

Its the closest thing to a folding Mora, I have found :)
The lock can be a bit hard to disengage.
It feels a little plasticy.
