I'm not sure if it is this exact one, but I have a military tri-fold in my truck to help me out of bad situations. Came in handy this weekend as I literally hacked a parking spot out of an ice bank. It went right through it like butter and man are they solid in hand. I'm not sure I'd want to have to carry one around with me but these things are made for serious work.

I have 2 shovels that are very similar. I keep one in the Jeep, and the other in the house.
A little Leatherman information.

I didn't realize that they folded up so compact.

I might get one to squeeze into my backpack.

One more thing to add to the list.

I've never really seen a good one in person. The little folding shovels I've seen all looked and felt very cheap.

Got mine at a surplus store, it looks quite used but it still feels solid as all hell.

If I get somewhere that has a surplus store I'll have to look at em.

The ground is frozen solid here. It will be awhile before I can shovel anything but snow and ice.

I want to see it before I buy. I don't trust ebay.

Megan tried one out last weekend!  This was the SOG Entrenching Tool, although Gerber's folding shovel was also used.  :D
