3 long tools into a Pocket Power Plier :-)
on: March 04, 2015, 05:24:06 PM
Hello everyone,
I was playing about with the loadout on my PPP last night and found I could get 3 long tools
comfortably into my tool.

I ended up with the serrated knife, saw and file.  The plier heads push the saw against the serrated blade,
since the saw is thin and flexible it does not seem to cause any issues.

Interesting combination of tools.

Why did you decide to go with the combo edged blade? Wouldn't the plain edged blade fit also?

PS: I embedded the pictures from your link in your post for easier viewing. Hope you don't mind. :salute:

Thanks for embedding the pics, appreciated.
I work in IT, so a knife is not the main focus of my tool, pliers and a driver are.
I just prefer the combo blade, cuts through cardboard and cable easier, I carry the SOG bit kit, adapter and extender
in my sog pouch so i'm covered for just about any screw I come across.

I always carry a Victorinox Minichamp and Leatherman PS4 and use the straight blades on them if I need one.
The amount of laptops I have stripped with that little the Minichamp is incredible.

I will check to see if the plain blade will fit alongside the saw.

If anyone is wondering, there is a tiny (and I mean tiny - 2mm) 'rub' on the plier head where it pushes the saw back.
Not noticeable unless you look really hard. The tool does not feel stiff, or 'jammed', opens and closes the same as it did before.
