A How to, clean your bench stones

Dirty stones? Are your oil stones dirty or glazed?

Advice on other forums: ideally stick them in the dishwasher (when she’s gone out   ;) )

If you don’t have that option?

Put the stones in a saucepan of water and washing powder bring to the boil, put scrunched up cloth in the bottom of the pan to keep the stone away from direct heat this is to stop the stone from cracking

This works, so I thought let’s try it with the microwave so there’s no problem with cracking  :D

Dissolve soap powder in some warm water in a plastic tub and microwave on full for 10 or 15 mins
Before

After they have cooled clean them off with some cream cleaner in the kitchen sink

They look a bit better now  :tu:

Anyone else NOT surprised that Tony's bench stones look rusty?

I was expecting a vinegar treatment.

>:D

Thanks for the tip, sparky.
