There is Tapatalk or you can use the special mobile version of the proper forum, by clicking on the "mobile" button at the bottom of each page

also opera mini etc.

Every post I've made here has been with a smartphone.  Galaxy 5 active now.

Some people like tapatalk I dont. I don't use the model site either. I just use the regular forum and it works and looks great.

Tapatalk is probably the front runner for forum apps in general, however I recently decided it wasn't worth the bloat and BS.  You can see my thoughts HERE if you are interested.

There is a mobile version of the site- scroll to the bottom of the page and click the big Mobile button and it will take you to the mobile friendly version if it doesn't load automatically.  I usually look at it with Chrome on my tablet and phone.

Hmmm, pm functionality on the mobile site could be better, though....

Trying to see pm's in conversations older than the last one, I now have to click reply and scroll down below the typing space to be able to see the messages... Also it seems like the site keeps saying I have a new pm even when I already read it...

Is there a way to see the most recent posts on a thread?
On my phone it always shows the first post and I have to scroll all the way through the first page (bad if it has lots of pics) to find the bit where you can choose which page you want at the bottom.

with Tapatalk there is an option for that.

I just use regular Chrome on my phone, android, to view the standard site, and click on the last post icon (there is a square icon at the end of each thread title in each forum, in the rightmost column, entitled "last post")

Has something happened to the forum? I'm thinking in terms of more stuff running in the background (bloatware).

Since my desktop PC died, most of my net use is off the phone, which handles most things well but not MTO. It's fine to view, but posting takes an age waiting for the phone to catch up with keystrokes. Type faster than 1 character a second, and the text on screen lags. Get more than say 6 to 10 characters in front, and only some of them make it to screen. Very tedious. I tried to reply to a thread yesterday, and bailed out as it was so infuriating. I've persisted with this post, but it's driving me nuts!!

I don't seem to be suffering this elsewhere, including online forms and other forums. In fact on some things, the phone is faster than thedesktop was (bloody hell this is really tedious). Thought i'd best persevere in case it's not just me struggling

He is alive!!!!!

I assume that  :D you have been chasing some young mature lady, as you have not been around for ages.

I have been having issues with the forum too, and have posted about it (slow, text missing) a few weeks ago.

I was having the problem on just one computer but now it has started on the other one too. They are both old but other Forums seem to work ok.

However, it works fine on my phone

Or maybe some of that soiree - otherwise it didn't happen

there was a recent minor bugfix/security update... but shouldn't have affected your access... maybe it's an issue of your provider network with our servers (they are in The Netherlands after all)...

Can you please try forcing your phones browser cache to clear? maybe that's what's causing your slowdown?

Hi Micah. I clear the cache regularly on my phone, and had done so just before logging in on the full site and on themobile version earlier. The best way to describe it is like a RAM issue on an old computer or where there's a problematic script not running and gobbing everything up. It's not the downloading of data that's the issue, just the replying. It's as though there isn't enough RAM left to type in the text box, but it's a new phone that handles other tasks and other sites perfectly fine. Here's what happens when I type at full speed:

I'll type this paragraph atnrmalspeed to letmegetseveral chrcer aAdof the phone and you'l see charerstartisaparing and wordsnot making sensaymore. Really frustrating tha gbaAnedItlT

... and no it's not my typing  ;)

hmmm. and that's on our site only?

my experience is mostly only via my nexus devices, and using my cable internet... and apart from when my nexus7 was on lollipop I haven't had those sort of issues...

I know there's some other mobile only users that don't get these issues so perhaps it's a combo of the site and device issue.

One other forum gives me headaches, and that's a gardening forum which is absolutely inundated with ads and popups and other tedious smurf. To be honest, that one could be a pain in the arse even on my desktop. That's why I was wondering if anything had changed here. Maybe it's a compatability issue as you suggest. I'll have a look at alternative browsers for my phone and see if that makes any difference. Thanks Micah

Some googling around turns up some others having similar issues on forums, especially with the WYSIWYG editor enabled (some devices don't have the horsepower needed for such on the fly functionality)

Sadly there's no per case disable available that I've found yet... it's all or none...

Can you try the "quick reply" instead of normal reply to see if that works?

He has the WYSIWYG editor disabled but signatures and avatars are enabled so maybe turning those off would speed up the posting a bit.

Hi Nik. I'm rather tempted to get that way to be honest  ;) That gardening blog kind of fizzled out almost as quick as it got started, so not much happening there. I have started getting the garden ready for this year though. I ought to start using the laptop a bit more I suppose...
