Mini Comparison: Olight S10 vs. S10R
on: March 14, 2015, 04:53:03 PM
Not much difference between the two, probably the first thing you would notice is the color change, with the red in the S10 changed to blue in the S10R

And the S10R comes with a charging socket

The result of the capability of charging is also visible on the tail-cap (S10R on the left).

You might notice that the only "physical" difference is that the S10R is 2mm longer (S10R at the bottom).

Let me just say, both are awesome lights, I especially like the strong back facing pocket clip. Helped me out of a jam recently:

Both have a magnet in the tail-cap, although it appears that the S10R's is weaker. I placed both horizontal but the S10R "dropped" down into the vertical position.

There is another difference, which transforms the great S10 into the faboulicious S10R. THE NEW BUTTON. Slightly more recessed, there is much less chance of accidental pressing it.

The more recessed button allows for the clip to be put over the button. So, no chance of accidental turning it on.

Thats it, hope you like...

Nice comparison mate. :tu:  The S10 is a light I've always liked the look of, but never quite gotten around to buying.

Does your mother know you're playing with her flashlight? :twak:

:P

Thanks for the comparison. :tu: Both of those were on my shortlist for a while now together with the eagletac D25a but after getting the T10S, I think I'm set for a while. (I hope. ;) )

Those two are on my shortlist too, however due to zero availability in Switzerland (and I like to touch before buying), its probably not going to happen soon.

Well Gareth has the Eagletec and I have the Thrunite. If you come visit, we'll let you try it out and maybe even buy you a beer? :P

Change that to the S10R... seriously, that new button makes a huge difference. Also with that socket you can use your phone charger for your flashlight too.
And if you think it would be better if you could plug it directly into the flashlight, remember that this causes other problems, like how to seal the plug. Its always a complromise...

Yeah, I could suggest that for my honeymoon

If you come here (and bring those flashlights) I offer not only beer, I also cook for you (Cheese fondue / home-made burgers or whatever, I'm an excellent cook) and open my bar full of exclusive vodkas for you guys.

Just remember the EagleTac. No flashlight, no food :P

Kidding, you are welcome without flashlight :salute:

I was some 120km away this summer. Didn't have a car though.
