I like the cultural aspects of beards (and also moustaches, sideburns and haircuts). It is a voyage through time to see a live Babylonian, or Greek, or Viking, or Mandarin, or Van Dyke beard.

If men cut & trimmed their beards regularly, so much sheep and other cattle would be spared the humiliation of being sheared....   :D

I like them to be shaved before they are eaten. Nobody wants hair in there burgers.

OK, that sounds really wrong.

Major General Ambrose Burnside, US Army.  His whiskers and name are where the term "sideburns" comes from.  :)

Beards are a personal decision - if someone prefers to have his face looking as a unsheared sheep from behind .... all the powers to him.  :D
Have fun.

Since we're in an English language thread, it wouldn't be complete without Beatrice's words on beards in Much Ado About Nothing: “He that hath a beard is more than a youth, and he that hath no beard is less than a man; [...]” ;)

I need to start growing mine again. I have been clean shaven for a week and I am getting bored with the look.

One good thing about facial hair is that work can't put me on the spill response team since the masks won't seal properly.  That's quite OK with me!! :tu:

:police:  OK folks, that's enough, this is the second warning.  Next time the thread's locked.

ENOUGH politics. That's how forums die.

If our Greek speaking members would kindly stay out of political and/or religious debates I would really appreciate it.

I love (not in the Harley way, mind you :P ) and respect you both very much, but if I have to do any more late night moderating jobs I'll have to pay you a personal visit and hit you upside the head with a very big torch. :twak:

And Now Back To Our Regularly Scheduled Programming…    :fugly:

Yes, no need for such posts. Why ruin MT.O's jovial ambiance? I apologise.

@enki; Nah, mate, I'd much rather have you over for dinner and drinks.

Thank you for not removing the entire post :hatsoff:

Does the torch have a firefly mode? :D
