on: March 22, 2015, 12:20:52 PM
Hey MTO gang. I tried looking for this club and couldn't find it. Apologies if it already exists. Join the club and show me some pics of your mods. It doesn't matter if you did the mod or if someone did them for you. It doesn't matter if it's a SAK OR LEATHERMAN OR GERBER. Whatever it is, Let's see it!

I'll start off with my MTO Killer Bumble

This is one of my custom SAKs made by Syph007. It's a matte gray Pioneer with scissors and polished brass liners. I still think it's a beauty.

You should seriously visit vicfan.com. All the hoopy froods are doing it.

Not really, the scissors are pretty easy to fit if you lose the can opener. To keep all the tools plus the scissors required a little thinning of the can opener and lanyard ring. Getting the last super thin indexed washer back in is the hardest part.

OK, I just did a quick and dirty BN and polish on my ST300.  Went to get my bench grinder, which was in my back room....  Nope, not there.  Where could it be I asked?  Oh, right, in my shed, which has 4' of snow in front of it.   Soooo, out comes the 4" grinder with a cutoff wheel.  >:D

I would highly recommend using a bench grinder over a handheld any day of the week!!  The results are ok, but I felt better using the bench when I did my MUT.

I also did a very fast polish.  When I say fast, I mean under 5 min for the whole process.  It's not near as good as it could be, and if I use my Dremel, it would probably turn out even better.

Any who, here are a few pics.

Before:

After:

It's shinier than it was, but not quite there yet.

Love the Urban Wenger! :tu:

There were 3 or 4 versions of it going back several years. I kept taking it apart and changing out/removing parts I didn't use.

In my view, the Yeoman Plus is the "best" SAK ever.  This one is a Swissbianco.

In my view, it takes all of the flavor of the Explorer Plus (my favorite production model) and crams it into 3 layers for easy pocket goodness.

I sorta save the yellow one, and carry a ruby version fairly often.  But mostly its an Explorer Plus when I am going with a "full sized" SAK.
