Old swisschamp pen

I just got this swisschamp off fleabay for cheap ($20- the seller listed it as Victurinox and I was the only bidder). I freshened up the scales with some extras I had but otherwise the knife appears to be almost unused. I dated it to a 1988-1991 model, the ink pen is blue ink with a dark colored barrel (the pen still writes). Is this what the pens looked like back then?

I have several Champs of that vintage, and all mine have silvery barreled pens. Doubt it matters.

Thanks, I thought it looked odd but also thought I remembered something about the dark ones. With my knives the older/weirder the better!

Mine looks exactly the same, probably the ink started to came out with time, colouring the barrel!

Mine also looks like that too. It's ink, not the steel barrel

I didn't know since there isn't any ink on the tip and when I popped the scale off none inside. Thanks!
