The RAT1 is very high on my list of great budget folders. The blade shape rocks. The grip on the RAT1 fits the hand better than most knives regardless of price. The AUS-8 blade steel is not my favorite, but it sharpens up easily. It will rust on you pretty easily as well, but as long as you catch it before its to bad it will come right off. The RAT1 is pretty easy to disassemble and reassemble as well if you need to do a deep cleaning. I love the look of it as well. All in all it is a great budget knife that I would recommend to people if they want a good budget folder.

Your envelope goes out Monday morning by the way. And KAT stole my Spyderco Ti Chapparall. Where's the damn cops when I need one.
Their is a reason it shares pocket time with all these (more expensive) knives.

The RAT Model 1 is one of my favorite knives, remember that AUS8 was used by Spyderco on the Endura and Delica in the beginning.I like the fact that I am not scared to lose or damage it and use it for harder jobs.In my world of Golden and Taichung Spydies the RAT 1 still gets pocket time. It's also one that lives in my laptop bag to backup another knife I may be carrying.
All salient points and all the more reason for me to own several more. Kat! I want and Orange RAT 1 with a black blade! Let's see if that works. Stop buying Sailor Moon bikinis and let's spend your money on something useful for Stew...
