The big difference between the RAT1 and RAT2 will be the grip. If you want a very good feeling grip go with the RAT1.

I just got a RAT 2 in and the Captain is right. The grip size and feel are noticeably different. The RAT2 is still an ideal EDC knife for anyone who wants to carry a smaller blade.
