I just watched a couple of comparison vids, and they both look like great knives.  The RAT 1 looks like a pretty big knife though, maybe too big for EDC??

I was thinking about ordering the RAT2 because I thought I'd like the lighter model. Is there much of a difference?

The big difference between the RAT1 and RAT2 will be the grip. If you want a very good feeling grip go with the RAT1.
That different eh? Thanks. I will look into the 1.

Big hands eh?  :pok:  :D

I have rather small hands actually. Sigh. Back to the spydies I was looking at I guess.

Megan. Look at the RAT 2 again. If you're disappointed I'll buy it from you. I'll even use that weird money you like. You know, the kind with the picture of Martha Stewart on the front or whoever that chick is....

I have very little actually.
I'm not a collector. I will only buy what I will use. Or will attempt to use I guess.
I don't have any other spydies besides the lady bug. I only have two folders.
I'm looking for something that feels nice in my hand. Is a little thinner. Doesn't rust too easily because I'm not always kind to my knives and I do spend time around the ocean.

Get the RAT 2. For the money you can't go wrong. I swear to Carl Sagan you'll like it! :climber:

If you want something that will not rust easily DO NOT buy the RAT 1 or 2.

Look into the Spyderco Dragonfly or Salt 1 in H-1 steel. It is impossible for either to rust. No maintenance required.

I just know myself too well. I'd love to say that I'm always cleaning and taking care of my knives and tools. But sometimes I'm unkind to them. (Sorry Grant)

Megan, I have this really sweet silver Spydie that Stew shoved in my purse for no reason...

I find the Rat 2 to have a pretty comfortable grip and it weighs 2.7 oz compared to the Rat 1 at 5oz. I think it's a great knife but I'm thinking of getting a Rat 1 as well.

This has me looking at the RATs (not that I need one  ), and it seems that the Kershaw Cryo II would also be a good choice, and comparable in price and size.  Now I really don't know much about either of them, and have never held either, but they both look like half decent knives.  I personally like the look of the Cryo more than the RAT, or I think I do...

I can't decide on the color of scales on the Rat 1 if and when I get one. I'm leaning twards Coyote brown but it looks different depending on the picture.

Coyote Brown

Desert Tan

OD

Or maybe just black like my Rat 2
