Case Lockback
on: April 05, 2015, 11:27:49 PM
So I picked this up used while on vacation. Frankly I know nothing about it and the deciding factor was that, 1. My Buck 110 user has evaded me, and 2. people here seem to hold Case in a fairly high regard. I took a bit of a shot in the dark, any idea if I wasted my time and money?

I don't know much about that knife, but, I do own many Cases and I doubt very seriously that you've wasted anything.

Nice knife and great pics!  :tu:

Thanks for the reply! I was getting a bit worried hahaha. It definitely used, but not abused. you can tell it's been sharpened but not too terribly, plus I want to use it anyway. It set me back 30 bucks in a rather upscale and expensive knife shop.

Ah!!!

Where to start.

Let's start with how you lost a Buck 110...........

You did not waste any time or money.

My father carried both a Buck 110 and a Case XX lockback.

He never went back to his buck, the case was a lot smoother engaging and wasn't quite the tank to him. (Yet I'm not exactly sure if there are weight differences)

Pictures look Incredible!!!! Too much snow for my liking but it looks gorgeous. Not a long needle pine in sight. (I hate them things)

Lastly, in the last photo I see water?! No fishing there??

Now you need a Schrade LB5 to complete the Buck110 "inspired/look" set  :D

Sadly I don't actually know how I lost it, or where it could have ended up. Carried it all summer, then come school time I was worried it might not go over well on campus and poof gone. I really hope I stumble onto it.

The Case certainly is smooth and strong to engage, but less of a tank than the 110 would be a pretty hard argument for me to make :D This thing is heavy as smurf! but I like it so far and look forward to EDCing it in about a month when the semester ends!

Thanks, I like the pictures too. But I hate the snow!!! Once we got up and out yesterday morning we got like 5 inches in less than an hour or something stupid like that!

The last picture is Lake Winnipesaukee, technically we could have fished there, but it was when we were on the way home and my mom and sister really wanted to go eat :-\

What is the pattern # on the back of the tang?  You should be able to find some information about it by searching the pattern.

I'd seen it in one of your photos in another thread and thought it was a 110!

But yeah,I doubt you could go too far wrong with a Case :tu:
