Show off your EDC bag!
on: April 07, 2015, 02:46:54 PM

CountyComm Mid-Range Bag in ACU Gray.

I had one of these when they first released them in 2011 or 2012, but it was confiscated by my better half because she loved the layout so much (she's a teacher and has to lug around a lot of paperwork and folders).

Got lucky and they recently did another run of them, so I picked up 2. It fits all my EDC gear (headphones, camera, umbrella, tools, tablet, hoodie, etc....and then some). I'm always surprised with how much you can stuff into this thing. It's even got a pocket on the inside that holds my 32oz. stainless Naglene bottle perfectly. Pretty much my perfect EDC bag, and I'm usually not a fan of sling-style bags, but I'll make an exception for this one.

Your turn! Whatcha carry?

For reference, I'm 5'8"

The shoulder strap can also be removed so you can carry it briefcase style.

Looks heavy. Doesn't your back hurt after some carry time? I usually use my straps on the opposite shoulder, accross the chest, to distribute the weight.

It can get heavy real quick, especially when I load it down with water and whatnot. I only carry it short distances between my car and the office, and back again, etc. I've taken it travelling before, but again, nothing long distance, so weight hasn't been a real big issue (I have backpacks for that). I tried across the chest carry, but it was too cumbersome so I switched to side carry. It looks a lot bigger than it really is (I'm only a buck forty).

In the 1980's I called it my school bag.  In the 1990's I called it my briefcase.  Now I guess it's my EDC bag.

I have three different gear bags that I chose from to EDC depending on what I'm carrying and where I'm going. So the REI messenger bag if just a laptop and a few files for work. The Mountain Hardware backpack for more stuff, and the 5.11 MOAB 6 for small EDC bag to take with me on the go.

I keep some general supplies in each bag: MT, LED light, small FAK, Anker backup battery charger, wall plug for phone, duck tape, cordage, etc.

And of course, the pictures would not be complete without an MT in one. Here is the MOAB 6 with my ST300 and Streamlight Stylus Pro taken out of the bag.

Spoilt myself a little bit lately and ordered a 5.11 Moab 10 with water bottle attachment. Hoping this sorts out my average backpack and gives me some versatility and organisation. Got it in double tap. Will post up a pic when I get the goods.

Here's the latest of my murse, we had a little bbq to go to yesterday and the wife had the camera so she snapped a pic of me while I was getting ready, thus why it's crooked

My EDC bag is a Maxpedition Lunada with a Maxpedition 10 x 4 Bottle Holder and a Maxpedition Double Sheath  and the Maxpedition Janus Expansion Pocketall in Foliage Green.

I did replace the Paracord Zipper Pulls with Black Reflective paracord,  since I wear this bag on all my walks,  it is just a nice little touch for aesthetics and safety

The Janus Expansion pocket is nice because it gives me a front pocket

WARNING!  some ugly guy is modeling the gear  :dwts:

These shots were taken with the flash to show the reflective cord,  and apparently the camera sees white stuff that I do not see,  not sure what that is.

Nice setup detron,
that's like the next step up from mine, I have been thinking about getting that Janus though for mine, only thing is it needs that 2"side release clip, but by doing it on my setup it would turn into my shoulder pad rather then chest pouch.
JR

Oh, and gotta love the reflective paracord! I redid all the zipper pulls on mine, and also just did the ones on my little guys, but on his I did red..

I very recently bought a 5.11 rush 12. I have been carrying a 5.11 Moab 10 for about 6 months but grew tired of the sling as it was just too heavy for one shoulder to bare so have gone back to the traditional style 2 strap but kept with the rush series as I love the setup.

The Moab 10 come standard with a very handy quick release strap underneath the bag so I made my own for the rush 12. Made myself familiar with the fiancée's sewing machine and gave it a crack.  Turned out alright.
