Dry-cleaning? i.e. call some company who deals with this sort of stuff and don't try yourself?
I ended up trying the rubbing alcohol and at first I did not think anything would happen, but surprisingly I almost got rid of the small stain and the large stain was reduced quite a bit, but is very noticeable still. I'm thinking about my next plan of attack. I will have some before and after pictures in a few days.
Buy 1,000 more pens and break them all, making sure you don't miss any part of the carpet. Nothing wrong with a blue carpet.

Can you cut it out and replace it with a piece from a bedroom closet? Just trying to think outside the box here.
