I would only buy a multitool endorsed by Les Stroud.  :tu:

He actually uses a multitool on his shows and anything he endorses and comes up to his standards of quality has to be the BEST. He would never sell out and compromise on quality    :salute:  :salute:    :salute:

You question the purity of my post  ?

Are you aware that Les Stroud's multitools have been tested by US special forces soldiers in e.g. Afghanistan  :salute:

That Bear's stuff has not been tested ever.

(I think there is a thread here somewhere about the Les's tool test...)

Here's what it ACTUALLY looks like after the test.

When you guys rag on the BG stuff, seriously, keep the LS abomination in mind. I have the BG 'Strata' and think it's actually a pretty good tool, as is the mini multitool, which is essentially a Clutch. Not a bad little tool. Unlike the Les Stroud Engage.

I keep those scissors so that I may never forget.

Never Forget.

Never Forget... :D

Gerber bear grylls use some really good outdoors survival knives for its survival expeditions
If I need to pick some good EDC tools.
Then I would take my love leatherman multi tool wave and a flash light. Other are just a waste !!!

Can't envision myself ever buying a Gerber over an SAK.  That said, I do like the layout of this knife -- the 3D phillips opposite the flathead and can opener arranged side-by-side.  Wouldn't mind an SAK with this layout, especially with the Vic can opener that doubles as a small flathead.

Here are a couple of Youtube videos about the Gerber Greenhorn.

BG stuff is sort of low-hanging fruit when it comes to criticism, so I'll spare you that.

From Amazon pictures, sure this tool looks fine, sort of, for a pocket knife, SAK type thing. Grippy handles may be a selling point.

For the sake of weighing in, I don't see the point in reinventing a fairly reliable wheel for the sake of picking up a few Gift, impulse, or for some reason die-hard BG equipment fan sales.

I *kind of* can see possible benefit in the chunky handles, blade style etc for kids - but to the best of my recollection, I never had a problem with the Climber or rigging knife when I was a sprog, so they might be giving you a solution you didn't need there.
