At least he has defended himself, which in itself shows he's not a charlatan as he actually had evidence

I don't think he was ever a charlatan. He did however make some very bold claims in his first video which flies in the face of a lot of proof out there that he is wrong on some of his ideas.

Nobody can take away his obvious skills.

Sorry just to clarify, I never thought he was a charlatan but plenty of people on the internets thought he was.

Now without searching the web were those same "critics" archers or just "critics"? I love seeing people making bold claims actually so long as they can back up with skills. He did a good job, I didn't see it as defending at all, more like clarifying.

Yes, plenty of folks in the archery world were critics. I still view him as a great trick shooter. His claims went way beyond that, and didn't really back up the historical record much.

Ok just to be fair, some of his critics were the same people who only break down archery in movies (including animated) and some of them were women who tend to shoot scantly dressed while promoting proper archery form. So a bit of kettle calling the pot black

Agreed. Without re-watching his first video, he does seem to have backpedaled a bit from some very bold statements, and not actually addressed some of the questions/criticisms at all. Still no denying his skills are impressive though.
