Oh,here's my take on Classic Leatherman...

Basically anything up to the Zytel models( yes I know they're classic models but they're also the beginning of the modern style Leatherman tool).

So,we're looking at the PST family(PST,PST2,mods like the KST,and the Flair),Mini( :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh),Micra,Supertool and ST200,Crunch,OG Wave, and Pulse

Why no option for a fixed blade?   :D

Try explaining to the police officer that this was a forum decision, so you have to carry a fixed blade for a month

Tough choice between classic LM and slip joint, but my vote went with the classic LM.  Either should be fun though. :)

With a recently acquired Flik, MP600, Diesel, and Dime I would have to vote Gerber. I am particularly impressed with the Diesel. It is very versatile. Maybe Gerber isn't as bad as I thought

Classic slip joints would be great because of the wide range of patterns and blade combinations. Stockmen, copperheads, trappers, canoes, etc. Levine's guide to knives shows over a hundred named patterns of folding knives.

The category is "classic pattern slip joints", I don't think SAKs are what Kirky had in mind. ;)

Zoidberg; you need to get a classic slip joint.  Get your hands on a Rough Rider or two.  Great knives for next to nothing prices.

The Spartan is basically a Scout pattern, various single or two blade models (with no tools) are just traditional knives (like a Canoe pattern)

I usually carry a pruner pioneer - two blades on opposite ends
