Take your 200 most valuable and put them on display so they wont get dinged up and knocked around in a shoebox

+1 to this. Put them on display otherwise all you have is stuff. Many stuffs, but still just stuff.

Just to prove they are not all in boxes :)

jaydar,

if you have an extra 84mm Huntsman that did make the 350-limit cut, I'll gladly take it off your hands. :) Just PM me. :)

A few snaps of the 'problem' :)

12 drawers like this

A lot of cigar boxes / shoe boxes

Bakers :)

(Image removed from quote.)

and a few trays

(Image removed from quote.)

I'm sorry,I can't see where the problem is ???

Seriously?!

There are lots of problems there!
 :twak: :twak:

The knives are not in cases or wrapped in some protective cloth/plastic/paper

They are not sorted by colour/size/serial number...

There are lots of unused space (to put other knives in)

Want me to go on?!

That doesn't look very organized :D
If I had a pile of stuff like that in my living room my wife would probably throw it all in the bin :)

SAK Guy! What a mess! Out of the goodness of my heart I will organise your SAK collection for you - just send it over and I suppose I can spare some time to get in order. The things I do. I'm a regular Mother Theresa

Wow! The size of the collections talked about here in this thread is VERY impressive

But now my meager knife/multitool collection seems very, very small :(

Even worse, makes me want to go order a few multitools today (lol).

I think my pile of SAKs got above 50 at one point. I was horrified!!! I did get rid of several, but still own too many. I've got it down to about 35-40 plus a bit of mod fodder, which is a bit more tolerable.

I think my target would be about 25, including my 10 assorted Wenger Travellers (all users), my two Original Outdoorsman (one user, one spare), Rangergrip 90 (hiking knife), Ranger 14 (gardening knife), Deluxe Cigar Cutter (wedding knife), CT 34 and 41 (dashboard and coffee table), and a few other users for a bit of variety. The tricky bit as always, is figuring out what to get rid of

I already got rid of 20% of those I don't plan on destroying, and I plan to get rid of more.

Better?

^^^ Why would you destroy any at all??  ???

Surely they can be used as beaters or given away as a minimum? - Or are they really that bad?

They were bought for parts for mods that I never seem to have time to attempt

Sounds like my getting-rid-of-stuff-I-don't-need plans. Instead of getting rid of stuff, I end up finding new things to do which require the stuff I didn't need...

:D Sounds like you've got it worse than me

Well, I have a plan to test the plan  :D stick everything I'm thinking of getting rid of in a big box, and if I've not needed anything out of that box after a certain timeframe, it can go. If not, at least I've not parted with any tools which would be tricky to track down again

With me it tends to become noffage. Noffage is that random bit of junk you'll only ever find a use for, two days AFTER you've thrown it out  ::)
