I can't always change my present circumstances however I always decide how I feel.
I won't worry about what next year will bring because I am immersed in today and enjoying it. 
My family and friends are healthy.
We have a great community here on MTO.
My dog is old but healthy.
I have not broke a MT tho I've used the heck out of them.
I'm getting better at my knife sharpening.
The weather is amazing.
My coffee is amazing.
I work today.

Awesome. I've been teaching myself more or less the same thing for about half a year or so and I think life's easier this way.

It is something that requires practice for sure.  Seems many people are stressing about next year, next month, next whatever and while its important, what about at least enjoying today?

We can still works towards all our goals and be concerned lets us not forget to enjoy NOW.

In no particular order,

Coffee is so good today.
I have ribs defrosting in the fridge.
Weather is amazing.
Kids are happy and healthy.
I'm getting in terrific shape.
My friends are happy and healthy.
I have some awesome tools to choose from today to carry.
Dog is healthy.
MTO.
My 20 year old clock radio is STILL woking great.

Focusing on now, living in this moment, planning and preparing for days to come but not obsessing.

Not surprising you feel this way.  I used to "burn the candle at both ends" for years.  I operated on very few hour of sleep often spouting out " sleep was for quitters"  :facepalm:.  How wrong I was.

it was one of those really awful days. but i got 1 reason to be happy and it is a big one. as some of you know I volunteer by reading bed time stories to kids in a hospital. well today a 7 year old girl also wanted to read me a story she wrote. that was nice

It gives a very strong perspective adjustment. These kids have all sorts of health problems but they are seemingly always upbeat, happy and excited because some random person comes to read them a story or play a board game. Even better is that age differences disappear because the 17 year olds are just as excited as the 3 year olds
