Cool thread dks! Here a 1/2" x 4" ferro rod and a OHT. While the ferro rod has a striker w/it I like the back of the saw blade better. I have a newer ferro rod coming which should be here tomorrow. It is suppose to have more magnesium so the sparks should burn a little longer.

One of these days I have to try and make fire with my ferro rod, just for fun.   :D

The problem is that every time I actually need to start a fire I have matches, or a lighter etc...

I use a coghlans fire starter flints which I carry to all my outdoors survival expeditions. Its the perfect tools which can generate the right amount of fires to keep me safe from wild and make my own food to survive in the outdoors.

If I need to pick some good EDC tools.
Then I would take my love leatherman multi tool wave and a flash light. Other are just a waste !!!
