Backsprings 91 mm sak
on: May 04, 2015, 03:06:03 AM
Does anybody know if the swiss champ saw and nail file have interchangeable backsprings? Also would it be possible to put an awl there instead of the chisel?

Yes and yes, but the awl is thicker than the chisel so you'll need to make a portion of the liner thinner to give it space to close. Syph007 has done it, there's a pic somewhere on here.

Gotcha, I wasn't aware that it sat deeper into the tool. I was thinking it would be too wide.

Yup I put an awl on back of a saw layer from a swiss champ.  You need to make a 0.015" deep pocket in the liner to have enough space.
