Hmmm... I do like my new 58mm light (the 2015 version is a big step forward)... but rechargeable is really nice too...

Great review! I actually want one of those now and might have to give amazon a look. Uncharacteristically of myself I actually like that it is rechargeable. The different shape intrigues me as well for some reason.  Thanks for the great review and most likely costing me $10.

I am trying to find it again, but the one I saw was a extra 30-40 lumes, LED color options, and a user interface change.

I don't know if it's suitable for leaving on charge permanently, but if it is it might make a nice emergency light. If you plug it in whilst it's on, the LED will go out and it will charge up. If you then unplug it again it will turn on in the mode you left it in.

I really like the shape of it, it fits in a pocket better than a cylinder. I've had mine for something like a month now and it's holding up better than a Maglite Solitair ever did

I just recieved my Tube and am liking it. First impressions are good. I like the UI. The button is easily clickable. Just some immediate impressions. I can see getting the clear one as well.

I'm debating on buying another in clear or if I should get a ThruNite Ti2 V2 NW. They are basically the same price.

Did you run your battery down when getting it before charging? It is a Li-Ion so it should not matter correct?

Personally I just charged it up, but I couldn't say for sure that it was a good idea.

I have not gotten mine wet, but I believe they are supposed to be water proof. Look up the torture test on youtube.

I think I briefly called it "waterproof", but I suspect when I corrected myself and called it "dustproof" I was much closer to the mark.  I know I wouldn't go swimming with mine in my pocket, though using it in the rain wouldn't be much of a concern.

BTW, has everyone got a similar colour level in the LED?  I said in the video that mine is nice and clear white with little to no blue in it, but I wonder if everyone else has found the same thing.

Mine has slight blue, same as with those I saw at some local shops and on youtube.

Had one of these for a while and I like it. It's simple, light as a feather and lasts for ages in low mode. I often use this at work when I have to stay overnight somewhere. I just leave it on low all night so if I wake up I can immediately see where I am in unfamiliar surroundings. Saves me fumbling for a light if I need the toilet or whatever. I get 4/5 nights use out of it before it needs recharging. I didn't need to buy a separate charging cable for it as it charges off my tablet charger and Mrs Dunkeld's smartphone charger. The variable setting is clever but in practice I tend to use only the low and high. I keep it on my vehicle keychain and it's becoming increasingly used as winter approaches. Another thing I like about it is it's slightly unusual shape.... makes it immediately identifiable when you rummage for it in your pocket/in the dark as it's the only thing that shape and feel. After a while you find your thumb just automatically comes to rest on the wee rubber button and the click is reassuringly positive. One thing it has never done once is turn itself on in my pocket and I carry it all the time.

I also carry a water/drop-proof phone that has a brilliant flashlight with a super-long battery life (b2100) and it's still the light I tend to reach for just through force of habit, but the tube is beginning to pay it's way. It and the phone are the only lights I edc. Between the two I could get by for weeks if I had to away from any charging source.

Best of all it's cheap as chips.
