A trip to the past
on: May 12, 2015, 07:05:06 PM
I had to skip work today to take the dogs to the groomers (yes, they are very spoiled), and on the way home, I decided to stop at a place I haven't been in probably 15 years.  This is a place Grant and Megan will reconize, one of the locks on the Shubie Canal.  While it hasn't changed, the property has some.  There used to be a nice older house there, and a basket ball court, but those are now gone.

So on to the pics.  I hadn't planned on stopping there, so these were taken from my phone.

Here's a link to some info on the lock.  http://www.historicplaces.ca/en/rep-reg/place-lieu.aspx?id=1788

So, do you think they used MT's when building this?  It does seem to fit in. ;)

These are not at the lock, but in the general area.

Thanks guys!

I used to go there all the time when I was in school as one of my best buds live just a couple of minutes away.  It really is a nice spot, and it's actually kept pretty clean.

I'd love to go and see as many of the other locks as possible, and hopefully someday I will get to.
