I just discovered I own a FLIK
on: May 13, 2015, 02:17:42 PM
I knew I had some type of turtle head multitool in my range bag I vaguely recall buying from Cabela's.

Pulled it out and discovered it was a Gerber FLIK.  I'm glad it isn't some Chinese knockoff.
PM me if you want one of my kidneys for your SOG TiNi multitool.

OK, both my kidneys.

Turtle head!

I hope you're referring to the action rather than the quality..... although in the case of the Flik.....

Ignore Alan.  :P

Are you going to give it a try Buck?  The Flik is a MT I wasn't at all sure about until I gave it a go, then I ended up carrying it for months at a time.

You must be at least this tail to operate the Flik.

Or you have to be super sexy.

Mine has a long needle nose plier head that sticks through the bottom of its sheath.

Maybe this is a "Duh!" but to the FLIK's credit over most Gerbers is the one hand opening blades, file, and scissors on the outside which is nice on a turtlehead so you never have to fish for tools from the inside.  (Mayhaps that's "why" it's called a FLIK?)

FishyFLIK is growing on me.

  • Better to have a tool, than be a tool.

Don't see one on eBay but I do see an mp600 fisherman.  Similar long pliers plus its got an awl, rare for Gerbers.
