Thanks, Z. Same story for washers as parts?
Has anyone snubbed the nose on a BO Diesel?I don't know about the Diesel but with the MP600 the stock needle nose has a smaller nut gripping area. What you really want IMO is the stock blunt nose.

Yes the washers also come from the donor tools.Get three MTs.From these you can make two MTs, one you want and one for backup. The third gives you extra washers, some spare replacement tools and a handle to use for a spanner.
http://m.ebay.com/itm/201288827445?_mwBanner=1What about an mp400? Similar path?

Bladeless?I don't see how it's possible to wind up with 2 tools with scissors (out of 3).
I'm just trying to figure out how you get 2 tools out of 3 (your words). Which 3 do you start with?Forget the diesel, just a guess on my part.I would want the 2 tools I wind up with to both have scissors and I don't see how that's possible. But maybe you know otherwise.
I like 50ft-trad's idea of using Diesel scissors and can opener->awl.But could it also serve as spanner?
Part way there. A used army mp600 with scissors.http://m.ebay.com/itm/201346614026I wonder if I can just buy a blunt head from Gerber, maybe through warranty. SOG does that.Anybody know?

It is a MP400 though, still gives you scissors and a handle spanner. Someone here I believe asked Gerber and they sent him out a replacement plier head but in the wrong finish. I will see if I can find the post.

...What's needed to take them apart?I did the first one with pliers. Now I use an empty handle as a spanner. And a lighter to heat the loctite....

Please explain using the handle as a spanner. Is it the plier side of the handle or the tool joint side?
