Thinking about getting the Fitbit...  Anyone have them or something similar? Thoughts?

I use an app called my fitness pal on my iPhone. Since I injured my back I found myself gaining weight. I put on like 25 pounds as I can't do much. Since I have been using it I have lost about 20 pounds in 2 1/2 months. I use it to count calories and track my movement. Also, if I can bring myself to do some light yoga I can track it.

The perfect thread.

I love the idea of wearing something that automatically transfers it to my phone.

I can't always have my phone on me, in fact, I rarely do. It's usually sitting on a counter or in a dry box.

Wearing something to track it and more importantly be waterproof, would be awesome.

I'm in the same predicament with weight gain, gained about 30 pounds since highschool 2 years ago. Some of its muscle, due to the gym and more work.

My phone does a lot of this for me- counts my steps etc.  I thought about a fit bit but in not sure what benefit it would have over what my phone already does?

I tried a Fitbit when we were on vacation (my wife forgot the charger for hers  ).  It seemed to work fine, but my iPhone tracks steps, and they were always pretty close to each other for what they counted.  The Fitbit app is better than the built in health app, and you can use the iPhone data in the Fitbit app.

Of course, you need one with an Apple Watch.

Just Making sure

I wouldn't be surprised if someone "jailbreaks" an apple watch and links it through "Samsung gear" application onto an android
