I just ran my finger over it, it does feel like its engraved. But not by much. That's a really good idea though I never thought about that with paint thinner potentially taking it off, but it does look like it's engraved a little bit

For what it's worth - the other 3, Non-Comcast ones, appear to just have the lettering applied to the blade, and could possibly be removed with a paint thinner or something like that.  However since I have not tried, I am not 100% sure. 
ALSO - I just noticed that I forgot to put in the original ad, that the 3 NON-COMCAST blades have the satin finish, I believe from the CX Model of Skeletool
