Foster's Combination Leatherworking Multi tool

I saw this one on the massive auction website and had to share.

This was invented by Calvin Foster in 1870.  U.S. Patent 102,105.

http://www.datamp.org/patents/displayPatent.php?id=43007

Everthing a leatherworker might need except the lasting hammer.

Currently priced at $115 U.S.,  it has been relisted  at least three times with the original starting price around $175 US.

I agree David.  The shears look dangerous!  I first saw this and imagined it was possibly a body modification multi tool or a torture device....

That tool is fantastic! I've had one for a couple years now. Certainly one the craziest combination tools ever produced. (Which is why I love it so) :D :D

I look at this thing and wonder, what sort of substance must have Mr. Foster been smoking back in 1870 in order to have dreamed up such a ridiculous contraption? :D
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

I would love to see more photos of the filing system in the background.

The only reason I would ever go to Michigan would be for a personal walk through of the Jsews multi tool museum!
