Sanding 3/32" brass rod to 2.2mm
on: May 21, 2015, 03:03:09 AM
What grit sandpaper would work best for sanding down 3/32" brass rod to 2.2mm?  What about steel wool or other methods?

I think I getting the hang of this now.  I was using too fine of a grit and it was taking forever.

Id use a file.

Use a file while spinning the rod in a drill press or rolling the rod on a flat surface perhaps?

I leave about an inch prodruding form a cordless drill hold it sideways on some scrap wood.  20 strokes of a wide file takes off 0.005" for me.  :D

I used the method to make stepped pins for this double-lock mod
