"Spyderco also uses a “back lock” which is decent, but simply not as optimal as the frame lock of the other two knives we discussed above"

I saw some other pearls before this one, but this really needed a quote...

"Swiss Army Knives are actually more difficult to carry too, since they don’t have a good pocket clip. "

And why the links to Amazon instead of the original brand site?!

But you do understand we sound like a bunch of hipsters now, as well? "We understand our subculture, those mainstream peasant are talking out of their collective posteriors!" I haven't read the articles, though, because life is short and I have heard enough uninformed crap about knives to last me several of them (lifetimes). ;)

I see a lot of posts here that reference carrying a knife in terms of being "acceptable"/"non-offensive".  Where the heck do people live where anyone bats an eye at somebody carrying a knife/multi tool?  It's so commonplace here that I can't even relate to that kind of perception.
I did get a chuckle out of the "aggressive in appearance" comment.

You don't drink Pabst Blue Ribbon. So... you're okay.

I went to a concert with some friends. While there, they were selling PBR for for something stupid like $4 a can. I poked my friend. "You want a PBR?"

She responded "I don't drink smurfty beer, even ironically."

There's a reason why PBR became trendy.  It's actually a pretty good beer.  9 out 10 craft beers taste like a prison contraband experiment.

PBR isn't bad at all.  I quit drinking it (and everything else ;) ) before it became an "in" thing.

We're going to have to agree to disagree on the 'It's actually a pretty good beer' statement. As one's preference in beer is absolutely one of personal preference, as opposed to any kind of hard scientific data, it doesn't bother me a bit that someone likes PBR. I don't, but then the only American Lager I like is Rolling Rock, and only while standing over a sweltering hot barbecue.

That's about the only time any lager tastes good...excepting with a hot curry, but even then I'd have an IPA :tu:

Lagers can be excellent beers! Franconia and the Czech Republic are filled with tasty, tasty examples of that!

(I have tasted Anheuser-Busch Budweiser exactly once. I bought one, since I assumed everybody was exaggerating how bland it was out of snobbery against American beers (this was before the craft beer wave)... And I realized that "Bud" actually is as bland as everybody said...)

PBR is ok in my book.  Rolling Rock however, sucks major smurf arse.  Or at least it tastes like major smurf arse, along with most pale ales.

I am a major fan of Miller Lite(shut up, you know it's good), Guinness(when I can afford it), Mich Ultra(it's not for women!), Corona, and a few select microbrews from Montana, Moose Drool being the chief.  I dig Shiner Bock when the redneck in me comes out.  It's damn good beer, if you don't mind chewing your beer.

I'll only drink Bud, Bud lite, or Coors lite if it's the only thing at the party and I opted to buy the meat instead of the beer.

I might have had a few Miller lites before this post.  MIGHT have...   I work overnight, it's 11pm my time.

FWIW, Moose Drool gets you smurf faced in a hell of a hurry.

Don't like Miller lite. 'Don't like' is the mild version, actually.

I'll drink a cold Corona with a wedge of lime with tacos by the beach. Otherwise, I'll pass.

Never had Mich ultra, but can drink regular Michelob. Although it's too pricey for what you get.

I like Guinness. Although it's like drinking a loaf of bread.

I think I've had Shiner Boch, but it doesn't stand out in my mind.

In the St. Louis area, we have an absolute TON of microbreweries (and a LONG tradition of beercrafting). If you throw a rock, you have a 50/50 chance of hitting a home brewer. I'd be among them. I've made 6 batches, all amber ales (mostly because ale takes less time to make, no lagering required).

As for derailing... no such thing.

EDIT: At a party, i will drink whatever the host provides. I think it's a weird 'good guest' unspoken rule I picked up somewhere. 'Never insult food or beer offered for free', I think would be the best way to put it.
