SAK in Garfield Comic Strip (October 30, 1980)
on: June 15, 2015, 04:14:43 AM
While reading the Garfield comic strips on the Garfield site  done over the course of the nearly 40 years the strip has run, I noticed this strip (for October 30, 1980) poking fun at a Swiss Army knife.

In my opinion, useless?!  Seriously, whoever drew the strip must not do much. I've had one for ten years and done everything with it.    And I've never seen umbrellas on any, other than the etch on the blade of Wengers and older Victorinoxes.

I think the intention was actually the opposite of calling the knife useless.

Yes, the idea was to show that it was not useless at all.  It is not often that Garfield gets shocked and realises he is wrong  :climber:
Kelly: "Daddy, what makes men cheat on women?
Al : "Women!"

Umbrella etched on the sides!   That's great!
