PT-540 fair price?
on: June 18, 2015, 08:03:14 AM
http://m.ebay.com/itm/261930378425?nav=WATCHING_ACTIVE

Is this legit?
What would be a fair price to offer?

Thanks to SolomanKane79 who suggested offering $100.
I asked for advice and offered accordingly and was turned down.  I'm going to show the seller this thread to see if it results in a sale.

Thanks!
PM me if you want one of my kidneys for your SOG TiNi multitool.

OK, both my kidneys.

Try an advanced search on eBay for Paladin PT-540, with "Sold Listings" selected.  That will clearly show you why the seller turned down your offer ($100 is way too low compared with recent sales).

Sold listings shows you what items have actually sold for recently (as opposed to the fantasy amounts some sellers ask for but never get).

Without trawling back through the past couple of years messages I have - I paid a substantial amount  for my PT-540 from a fellow member here on the forum.
At the time I thought I was very lucky to be offered it and still do!

I'm sure if you're prepared to sit and wait another will eventually turn up cheaper. But these days I just want to move on with my life and usually grab it (within reason obviously ) then kick myself later!!

I found that my spending actually goes up when holding out for a particular model because through constant searching you'll stumble onto something you hadn't seen or even considered and as is often the case buy that too!!

The bulk of my collection is from exactly that scenario.....impulse buys!

If you're set on the PT-540 - which you obviously are, make the seller a realistic offer and move on.

That's my advice and is what I'd do.

I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

I bit the bullet after a little back and forth.

Thanks for the edification, this forum is great.
