Last wednesday me and wife got some time together and used my fathersday gift. She got us tickets to Heavy Christmas concert. It was two and half hours of top finnish metal artists singing christmas songs. Usually i do not care about christmas songs, but this was pure awesomeness of metal music.

Was Nightwish there? I quite like them, though they've lost some of their uniqueness since they kicked Tarja out.

Sorry to hear of the lay-off. Yes, while you're looking, look for something more permanent. Family life demands a steady paycheck, and you have SO many skills to offer. Do look and apply places online, in addition to door-to-door.

Hey man. Where have you been? You have been missed... You know, there is thread of wondering where you are...

No, Nightwish was not there. Neither was Marco Hietala, alltough i would of liked to see him... I loved first years of Nightwish, and the rise of them. I still like them, but early years was best for me.

As for looking for work. I am looking for any opportunity get permanent job, as soon as possible. I will take short time works in between. I want to work, and i will get my life in track in any way possible. I might get possibility to re-educate me.

Another bread today. This one i have to thank Grathr. Slow risen dough, and baked in pre heated ceramic pot. Damn this recipe was good and simple, and bread was light and well risen with good crust.

And you should make another one. It is so easy to make, and so delicious straight out the owen...

I will have to translate one recipe that has some nuts in it.

Potato cakes today. Notice spatula that is self made.

These are easy to make, and really tasty. Good and easy food for outdoors.

You need
4 cups left over potato mash
2 cups barley flour
Half teaspoon salt
One egg

It is easy to give it different tastes by seasoning your potato mash. Try chives or mustard seeds, or what ever comes to mind, even crispy bacon bits. They taste nice on these cakes.

+1. I wish you were nearby, or that we shared some network other than MTo, so I could help.

Did you check in with any other Finnish members? Or maybe consider joining a Finnish MT or SAK forum, if there's such a thing. I'm told networking is the best way to get a job. The thing is building the network.

Do you have a LinkedIn account? That is a professional networking site; it can be helpful. (at least in the US)

I have interview tomorrow, but we will see if it leads to anything. Ther is couple places that said there could be something for summer. But what to do untill then.

I have not put myself up on sosial media. Or forums. I do not like to even use Facebook. Did check LinkedIn now that you mentioned it. Could be worth trying.

I shortened days on daycare for my girls, so they are home with me much more. Minus is that i don't get to go searching work when they are here. I did go and bought paint, so maybe we will paint couple walls together one day. :D

If nothing comes up, i will start fixing our apartment.

Here's a trick I used once on a landlord who used stupid painters who painted over electric receptacles and window locks: Ask the landlord if you can repair them and take the cost of parts out of the rent. My landlord said: "Sure, just include the receipts with your rent check."

So I did, and it worked out well for both of us.

Maybe you can deduct the parts from the rent too?

When i rented, I used to ask for tools and paints, so i could do it myself. Nowdays we have our own apartment, so i need to get everything on my own. Good thing is, i can reduce everything on my accounting.

Yesterday i had an interview and it lead to another one tomorrow. Hope this leads to something.
