Kaufland Flashlight
on: June 28, 2015, 02:05:13 PM
So, that's gonna be sold in Kaufland here starting Monday. Do you think it's worth it? Lol. I know you can't see or tell much by the pic, but maybe you've seen some similar ones around?

It says it's a LED light
Waterproof (maybe questionable)
5 modes (I wonder what, but probably low, med, high, sos, strobe?)
Apparently comes with a case and takes two AAs
The price is about $12 at the current exchange rate.

Can it be a lot worse than a Mini Maglite LED?

looks OK

a lot will depend on the emitter, the LED

I assume it will have an older cree?

do a search on the name too, I can not see it clearly.

The price looks OK, but it all depends on the LED and the brightness, the beam profile....
just buy one  :D

Well, I also don't see the name properly, lol. It looks like "X-cito" or something, but I don't see any google results. Anyway, I'll have a look at it tomorrow and see if I like it.

Here's how I justify the purchase of the next unnecessary light....

Shopping List

1. Whiskey - 11lv
2. Shower gel - 4lv
3. Milka cookies - 1.7lv
4. Pepsi - 1lv

Total = 17.7lv

A minute later....

Shopping List

1. Whiskey - 11lv
2. Shower gel - 4lv
3. Milka cookies - 1.7lv
4. Pepsi - 1lv
Flashlight - 20lv

Total = 20lv

It's not the most expensive one in general and there's some 50% discount on it, so, yeah, it's cheap. :D But see, because of that flashlights, you aren't seen special pictures soon.

They often say that the foreign tourists /especially the teens/ like coming on holidays here because of the cheap alcohol, lol.

Not sure if it´s a good idea to skip the shower-gel for a unknown flashlight.  :D
Have fun.

Doesn't look very promising does it ? ( the flashlight, not the prospect of a holiday in Bulgaria).  I believe "X-Cite" is a trademark owned by Kaufland, so just another cheap, unremarkable flashlight, presumably made somewhere in Asia...

Well, yeah, but the Sipik clones are also cheap, supposedly unreliable, while they are and, actally, they're allllll made somewhere in Asia, lol.

It's interesting that I'm ready to pay three times more for a light that has a brand name on it, but i'm really hesitating about this one.

Of course the expensive ones are more reliable and and and, but I've had three cheap lights in my light that haven't betrayed me (within normal use, of course, not diving, hitting, dropping, throwing at hard surfaces).

So, I guess, tomorrow it'll be just... about my feeling, lol. If I feel it's a good light when I look at it, if I can open it and have a closer look at it, I'll decide..

@dks, as the person before you said (I'm not risking spelling people's name again after a drink  lol), if all ladies skipped the shower gel for a flashlight, probably not for the ladies, lol

P.S., lol, I'm not really skipping, I have tons of it, anyway. But couldn't resist the discounts  :D

Well. Honestly, for me that kind of purchase is another way to avoid a harmful habit. i.e. I'd rather spend it on the light than the alcohol. It'd be just better for my health.

And the more I think... the more I'm starting to want to buy an i3s instead or save up some money and buy the Thrunite T10s I've wanted for ages.... should've bought it before the dollar went up. SIGH.

Lool. But really, I've been drooling over that Ti3s since it came out. And I bought so much crap in the meantime and never got down to ordering IT, because it's just too much money for BG. (for a light).

So I may go there, have a look at the cheapo... snort and save my money for a Thrunite....  it has moon mode, after all... sigh.

Life is made of tough decisions . lol

If you check the usual online sellers there are various cheap olight lights etc. I have posted some links some time ago. You can also find jetbeam, fenix etc older models that will have better leds than many of the cheap lights, of similar price.

Sure, I'm just very picky when it comes to the appearance of a light - if I don't like the way it looks... I won't buy it. And then, sometimes the shipping price ruins it all.

It's just probably my flashlight passion coming back.. lol. It's always in "waves", it comes and goes, it comes and goes.. :D :D I hadn't bought a flashlight for many months, now I'm going crazy again and wanting to buy everything I see
