The festivities and stuff will kick off shortly (although admittedly some already have!  :D) but I wanted to get something out before they do.

First off, I have to say Happy 9th Anniversary to everyone here.  While I’m sure many of you haven’t been around since the beginning, you deserve no less credit.  Everyone here, even those of you with only a few posts, have contributed to the success of this forum over the years.

And yes, I don’t think it’s that egotistical to say we are a success.  Each year more and more forums die out, killed by lack of user interest, get gobbled up by other forums or simply can’t compete with modern social media like Twitter or Facebook, and yet despite all of that, we are growing.  And, we are still here- I often say that the difference between success and failure is perseverance, and, well, here we are celebrating nine years in operation- if that isn’t perseverance then I don’t know what is.

As usual we have lots of giveaways this month, lots of fancy gimmicks to get people involved or do other silly things to help boost the forum, and we’ll hand out smurf piles of free advertising to various companies, and at the end of it all the forum will have little to show for it but an artificially inflated post count for the month and a huge shipping bill- and I wouldn’t have it any other way! 

We may do new things from time to time, like the Merit Badges or the Million post Challenge, but we will always stay true to the spirit that got us started and has carried us through nine years of trials and tribulations, triumphs and failure, successes and, well, not so successes, and we will stay true to the spirit of Multitool.org because that is what has worked for us and that’s what we love about this place.

So, to everyone here now, Happy Ninth Anniversary, and I hope to see you all around for many more to come!

 :woohoo: I've only been here for 4 of those years as of last month and I really don't know what I would do without you guys(and gals)! You've helped me through quite a few things, the name says Multitool but should be more like multifamily, cause coming here isn't like walking into a store to talk about tools, but more like walking into a huge community building and talking to friends and family! Happy anniversary to all :cheers: this place is not just a wonderful place to hang out, with good friends around the world, most of whom I've not had the pleasure of meeting, but this place has also been an emotional crutch for me many more times than I've ever let on.

In good times or bad, I know I can count on you crazy nutters for a good giggle, cool pics, intelligent discussion, and somewhere to just kick back and know there's some really wonderful people left in the world. May that never end  :salute:

Happy 9th anniversary to my favorite place and peeps on the net!  I love it here, and couldn't imagine my day without this place....don't know if that's sad or a good thing :think:  I'm going with it being a good thing ;)
