Another fun GAW going on. :D

Ok, since this is the future and all how about a numerical code in stead of a name? I think 42 is a nice number. The life, the universe and everything you know...  :D

Aaaand entries are CLOSED.
Thank you all for joining and for the wonderful suggestions. I had a lot of fun with this and hopefully you did as well. I assure you I read and took in consideration each and every one of them.
This is the list below. The choices in Bold will participate in all 3 drawings while the other choices will only participate in the contest for the second and third prize.

These are your suggestions (hope I didn't miss anyone). I have the corresponding numbers handy as well, but I'm really tired and I don't want to mess up, so winners for Prize 1 and 2 will be announced tomorrow. Prize 3 (if awarded) will be given after the baby's name becomes official.

Shortened numbers
Reply #186 on: July 19, 2015, 07:49:35 AM
As using raw numbers would make it unfair and skew the chances (a name with 11 characters would have 90% chance of winning), I checked the name average length and found it to be 6 letters.
As such, I cut off all longer options down to 6 figures so everybody would have a more similar chance.
Drawing will be done using https://www.random.org/ 000000 to 999999.

You might have seen on this GAW a rare sight in such event, a great man whose maliness is best aknowledged by the nonchalance with which he can wear a dress better than any prissy supermodel.
A man whose bearded presence allows us to have these fun July weeks, a man who knows what having a forum is aboot.

Not only did he grace my GAW with his participation, but also gave the most facepalming roflmao-ing answer I could imagine: the mere image of a cute little girl being called Carnivorax the Titan can make even the most serious person crack up. When I read that I honestly could not stop laughing for 15 minutes.

As such, thanking him for the partcipation, for the heaven he made and the funniest, most mental-scar inducing name for a little girl, I give you the second winner:

Grant Lamontagne - Carnivorax the Titan

Boss, I will make you sure you get a tiny little something to match your manly canoe.

Regarding the 3rd Prize (which might be a bit more substantial - as I should have finished bribing the whole maternity ward by then), I will announce it when it becomes official.
So far our preferred choice seems to be Adela, but noone suggested that. However, the other 4 favourite options were all in the list, so it is a good chance the prize will be awarded.
PS: And no, she definately will not be called either Carnivorax, 42, Darth Vaderita or zoidberg... how did you come up with these guys?

Congratulations to the winners and all the best for your family Corwyn.
Adele is germanic, meaning serene or something like that. But by chance it has a meaning in Greek also (the Adele form), meaning "latent" or "obscure". Adelos was the name of Delos island (the sacred island near Myconos, where Apollo and Artemis were born)  after it surfaced to become obvious (Delos). Adela Corwynesku isn't bad.

I received my present from the most magnificent Corwyn!   What a bounty it is.

For those that don't recall.  Corwyn gave a hint of the items to be bestowed upon the winner:
"Name my daughter" Giveaway

In the spirit of giving and of this sunny-christmasy-multitooly holiday I am organizing a small giveaway.
The prize: A Suprise. You wanted a crazy GAW... here it is. Some hints:

A bunch of toys from Santa MTO
With little helpers singing jolly Ni Hao.
Not high in price but neither poopiecox
Not old and used, but fresh and in the box
Not manly, rugged, tacticool,'
But nice for girls, class men and sheeple friendly too,
One that will help you cut your way
Another lights each night like day
One on the wings of doves will be your mockingjay
Another shall erase all that you say
One that will keep the chemistry alive
Last one might even save your life.

See attached photo as proof of his magnanimity! Included in the cornucopia is the following:

A lock blade knife with really cool multicolor blade and scales.
An invisible ink pen with flashlight
A really bright keychain USB rechargeable flashlight
An emergency medical storage for my keychain
An emergency escape tool for cutting seat belts and breaking windows
A really neat key chain/whistle combo that looks like a little pink bird and has a bird house that mounts on the wall to hang the keychain when not in use.

Thank you sir.  May your daughter live a long and happy life and be a joy to your wife now and in your old age many decades in the future.

All hail!  Corwyn of Multitool, the First of His name, King of Victorinox, King of Leatherman, Gerber and the First Generation SOG, Lord of the Seven Wrenches, Protector of the Forum, Khal of the Bushes, called Corwyn Toolborn, the Unsharpened, Father of SAKs.
