enki: we should come stay at yours during our winter.  :pok:

Try to hitch a ride with babola, I think he's taking off today, maybe you can hide in one of his bags. :D

It's scorching hot here already. I woke up to 30°C in my bedroom this morning.

all jokes aside, I absolutely love seeing kids who truly enjoy being outside, and who genuinely want to spend time hiking, camping, etc., especially in an age when so many kids (and adults) choose to spend their time with a screen of some sort in front of them.

well done, Dr. Z!

Why have I never thought to do that?  Brilliant!

I much prefer to eat bacon butties rather than nail them to a log

Cool thread Zoidie. Good to see the wee one having a good time in the outdoors as others have said. I hope I can coax my nieces into practical outdoorsy stuff too. I think one of my sisters in law would be OK, and the other would be hysterical at the thought of it  ::) I have a while to wait though, as Caitie is only 4 and Amelia hasn't even been born yet  :P

I've still got knives set aside for them though  ;)
