  • I may get older but I refuse to grow up.
As you might have noticed, this year CRKT and MTO are giving tribute to the knife communities greats that are no longer with us. And Ed Halligan is most certainly one of them. :salute:

You can read more about him and his K.I.S.S. designs at http://www.crkt.com/EdHalligan

To commemorate him, CRKT has sent us a few of his K.I.S.S. 5500 razor edge knives with "Tribute to Ed Halligan 2015" etched on frame. :hatsoff:

The giveaway is open worldwide, and there isn't a minimum post count requirement either.

But you do have to put a bit of effort into it. :D

To go with the motto of Ed's designs. Keep It Super Simple. :pok:

Post a picture of your super simple EDC setup, your bare minimum, so only what you carry in your pockets, no bags and such. You can post as many times as you like with different setups, or comment on the setups others post. BUT ONLY FRESH pictures. :D I know the pics posted here pretty well so I'll know if you cheat. :P

I'll read through the thread and make a list of everybody who entered properly, randomize it and draw the winner in one weeks time.

This one is open till next Monday, the 20th of July, and will close at 20.00h CET (Central European Time - server offset time)

Good luck to all who enter and a big :hatsoff: to CRKT for their generous donation and fitting way to pay tribute to one of knife community greats, Ed Halligan.

No sunlight left and an empty camera battery - Got to wait one more day.
So sad that a lot of talents left us in the last year.  :salute:

I usually don't carry much, but short pants have even less room in their pockets. Today's pair fortunately has a watch pocket. So today it was:

Spyderco Dragonfly 2 Salt (no worries if I sweat alot :D)
LM Carabine
Ear-plugs in keychain capsule

Today, due to the tightness of my shorts, I was limited to carrying one thing. I made it the tool I thought was lost, but got back from my father yesterday! And man, I forgot how much I love this thing, it's got everything I need!

Thanks to MTO and CRKT!

Its worth the $20 for sure. The one and only issue I had with it was the blade comes so close to the end of the handle when closed I actually cut the webbing of my hand putting it into my pocket. Seems like a slight design flaw. With things like this it makes me wonder how no one at Spyderco caught this. As long as you are careful its all good, but it is something to be aware of. Its a great little knife though.

The serrated and bottle cap models can be had for $18 shipped right now. If you are interested let me know and I will give you the info.

Huh. Perhaps most of the time they end up slightly shorter when they profile them? (hand profiled right?). Does make you wonder what they were thinking

I think I'm on a spending break, I'll likely talk to you soon though :tu:

Ok so your idea of minimal edc is 4 tools? For me this is minimal edc since I was in middle school:

And no I don't smoke nor am I an arsonist!  :twak:

The second smallest edc for me are a peanut lighter and squirt ps4. I'll post pictures of that tomorrow when the light will be good enough to even take them...  :D

Knew I was gonna need a screwdriver so I went with a Wenger Watch Case Opener and CRTK Get-A-Way Driver (without the cap-lifter). Turn out to be an excellent combo for me.

Here is my minimum EDC...

...which consist of a USB drive dressed as an alligator which also glows in the dark (more useful then I ever would have thought), a Swiss+Tech Utili-key 6 in 1, and a small LED flashlight bought at the dollar store (they do not carry these anymore....guess they were too good for the money paid), and of course my keys hanging all from a Nite-Ize locking S-biner.

Great GAW, as usual.

Thanks!

As for minimum EDC, it's always the LedLenser K1 + Stylus pen + SwyssHexabyte or SignatureLite (base).

Then a bigger blade tool (SAK or other). See below.

I may or may not have overdone it yesterday carrying 2 Syph customs... couldn't resist.
Today it was light again, went with the 2015 Cadet (excellent color match to my cap). Also exchanged the keychain carabine to avoid having 2 cap lifters :D

Hm....I'm not sure what minimalist is   I always carry at the least, a SAK/MT combo, and everything I carry is on my person in pockets.  I guess my most minimal carry was when I carried the PST II and Minichamp on occasion.  Or when I'm only carrying my MechaRogue in the evenings after changing out of my work attire.  I'll post pics of both :)
