You could've tried the LD09, too, they do seem rather similar, both are AA lights... :whistle:

I haven't tried the LD09, though.

A guy close to my city is selling a 4Sevens Quark Mini AA for about $20 shipping included... I told him that if nobody buys it by the end of next week, I may get it. I hope that's a nice deal :think: I can't see those available for sale anywhere anymore, but I bet they are more than 20 USD new. And his looks well-preserved.

They were selling for about $35 new I think. Basically the same flashlight as the itp a2 or olight i2. Great as they can run on both aa and aaa batteries due to the strong backspring.

@Enki,

Thanks for the comparison :D I never had an i2, only i3s, but I get the point. Lol. I'm curious how well the AAAs will work on it. Also, does it have a clip or not? :think: I can't figure it.

No clip on the 47s version.

They can work on AAAs but I wouldn't use that too often to not mess up the backspring.

I really quite liked my iTP A2 in stainless.  I almost regret giving it away, but not quite.  Shame they've dropped the design from the Olight range.  :-\  IIRC the tint on mine was very cold, though it would be unfair to call it blue.

Okay, so I'm really getting that 4Sevens Q Mini :drool: I'll be able to get it only on Thursday, though, can't wait.

Looks like a great light from what I've seen online as reviews. Not much of output from an AA battery by today's standards, but the size is great, I think. It's nearly as big as an AAA.

I really liked my one. And then it just wouldn't turn on. That was a sad day.

 :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

I hope it's not like my Preon  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

But it's used, this guy sells at a place where I used to do it and to people he communicates with, so he's probably tested it and he wouldn't sell a not working product. The community there's rather small, so if one person says sth bad, nobody else will ever buy his stuff. That's what I count on :D

Otherwise, I've somehow always liked 4Sevens'/Olight's products and so far only the i3s have worked outstandingly. My Preon P2 worked properly, then started being a bit unreliable until one day it stopped forever. And my Olight O'Pen would flicker randomly all the time... until I did the irrevocable  :facepalm:

My light came in.  Initial impressions are I LIKE IT.  The hi is pretty darn bright as compared against an off white wall to my Thrunite T10.  The FnF is quite nice and while I only used it in the house and "test" carried it around briefly I can see this light making it into my pocket.

I'll report back after some more time with it.

@Aloha,

It definitely looks nice! :tu:

In appearance it looks like a mix of the Olight O'Pen (the top and stuff around the clicky) and the Preon 2 (the broadening bezel ) :D

I watched a video where the presenter said this light in his opinion was a clear copy of the 4-7's preon, design wise.  I do wish there was a mode between the 24lm and 252lm, maybe 65-90lm ?  I dont mind the strobe at all but I often wonder about mode spacing.  I do like the spec'd run times and will only run this light on Eneloops.  It certainly is bright on Hi and the firefly is terrific.

I'd agree except I don't think the Preon was particularly stand-out design wise.  Smooth and "pen shaped" isn't all that original.  It's right, but a lot of pen lights have managed it before. :D

True.  It would be nice to see lights like these ( pen lights ) offered in colors without huge markups.
