Yeah, I usually have one AAA with a clip clipped to my neckline at almost all times to have quick and easy access to ti. This one will be less conspicuous as it'll be just hanging on my neck hidden by whatever I'm wearing. So I'm used to carrying lights near my neck, lol. Hopefully they won't explode and I'll get to keep my head a while longer :D
good thing dks insisted we install that spy cam into the flashlight

Anyway, the light just helped me brew my morning coffee.... it's dark and I don't use the lights not to wake up my father, so the low mode was perfect for checking if that coffee hadn't started boiling :D

I had a chance to use it a lot in the past few days - first I was getting home in a really pitch dark street. I had the feeling the i7r was performing no worse than car lights, lol.

Then today I had to use it again, in broad daylight, don't ask what for, so it was again very helpful again because it's really so  bright that it actually makes a difference even during the day. So it was on for about half an hour without dying.

:tu: :hatsoff:

Nice, good to hear that light suits you... currently checking the Olight page daily as they are pouring out tons of new products... hopefully they bring out a new i7r with a button switch

I love the light, it's so damn convenient :D Are you serious about a button switch? Now I'm wondering if i'll like that. Because the idea about just pulling the light to turn it on is great and very convenient for me - I keep carrying it on my neck and just pull to use around the room at home, always on low. In the rare cases when I'm outside in the dark, it's outstanding, too. Having the two extremes is something not many lights have :D

I strongly dislike twistys but would like to have something smaller than my current S1/S10R.

I strongly dislike twistys ...

:tu: Same here, if it's a twisty then it strictly has to be a single mode light for me.

My most used light is the Tank007 E09, a multimode, twisty. I keep a few on my keychains.

It may not be the fastest to deploy in a hurry, but I do not really have any problems with it. I can operate it one-handed.

I also have the E10 version, which is operated by a button and use it as a pocket light. It is faster to use but it is a bit bigger and designed to be clipped on a pocket.

My hands are often sweaty  :-[  Trying to use a AAA twisty (or even my old 2 AA MiniMag) one-handed is a pain then, so what if I really need to do so? It's just a matter of preference though, I don't really dislike twisties. Also, I suspect a good twisty might be more durable of a switch than a button.

It depends. It is easier to get dirty contacts (the threads) and damage/dirt to the contacts on the pill. The lips of the tube need to touch the outer parts of the pill, so if the pill gets pushed in, by too much force or gets damaged you have problems.

Also the +ve end touches the pill's centre and rubs on it too during operation, potentially scratching the thin conductive metal.

Some brands are better than others..

Thanks, lol. So you've got a ton of lights (I think, right?) but do you have an i7r?

Well - I don't know about a ton, but it was 77 at last count.  The newest one is a Zebralight SC600 Mk II L2, that I picked up for a great deal on Candle Power Forums.  The only Olights I own are an M20-X, an S20, a TC15 SS (Stainless), and an S35; and the only in-light rechargeable light I own is a Nitecore P25.

77 might not be a metric ton... but it might add up to a hundredweight (Imperial system is weird, a hundredweight is 112lb )
