Maybe but at what price. REI, where I bought an orange Wave from a while back, charged full retail anyhow so what's it matter where you buy it from. I seriously doubt you'll see the coloured ones at a reduced price.

They've had a tan Wave at the A.S. Adventure franchise shops (local franchise of outdoor shops) over here for some time now, I've held it in my hands a couple of times and I spoke with the person behind "the multitool counter" about it.  For me it's quite simpel, if they had combined a BO wave with the tan handles I would already own one (or two ...  ).  But the stainless/tan look, well let's say it's not my cup of tea ...

The Wave and Rebar are completely different tools. Adding the Rebar head to a Wave would not push the Rebar out of the picture at all. If anything it would sell more (more expensive) Waves.

I was saying not so eloquently that we end up buying both tools to make one wave mod

I think the painted Wave makes it look cheap. I saw an Orange Wave at Cabelas and did not like it. The all SS or BO is how I like them.

Well at $152 in the UK the wave is not an inexpensive option

Not surprised at all if they aren't selling too many, plus you bring into the equation all the low cost multis and one piece tools they've been bringing out. Alł of sudden people realise the gateway drug is really not that good, so they pass on the more expensive offerings.

So is this anodized? Powder coated? Enamel paint? Cerakote?

I'm keen on the blue but hoping it will be durable. Don't mind the way anodizing wears (see my avatar) but hope it's a tough finish
